The Elect pt.2

Romans 9:11-21

9:11 not yet born: still in womb, unable to bring any good or bad forth in the flesh yet. Purpose G 4286; setting forth. Done according to the calling of God. These babies had done nothing in the flesh, but God knew their character.

9:12 (compare Gen 25:23). Normally the older (first born) was ruler of the house.

9:13 (compare Mal 1:2-3). This is from God, spoken before they were born. How can a fair God say this? Because they were with Him before. He knew their character and mind set.

9:15 God knows what each of His children are capable of. He knew Esau’s character.

9:16 God is in control and is always fair.

9:17 (compare Ex 9:16). Pharaoh was put into his role because God knew how he would respond.

9:18 hardeneth G 4645; render stubborn. We will receive what is fair. We all have the opportunity to grow upward and mature. Pharaoh did not take the opportunity and chose against God (he was given a chance).

9:19 we want to do His will, not resist it.

9:20 repliest against God: to dispute, contradict God. (compare Isa 45:9). God knows what is good and is in control so don’t argue with Him.

9:21 what makes the difference is the soul that is placed in the flesh body. Out of the same lump God can make a flower pot or a garbage can.

Romans 11:1-8

11:1-2 Gives the lineage of Paul. Elias is Elijah.

11:3-4 (compare 1 Kings 19:10-18). Elijah was not the only one. There were many (7,000) ready to stand for God.

11:5 there are those left even today.

11:6 we can take credit for nothing of ourselves. It is by the grace of God alone.

11:7 (compare 2 Cor 3:14). Blinded G 4456; harden. Some have eyes to see and ears to hear.

11:8 (compare Isa 29:10). Slumber G 2659; stupor (a prickling as the limbs fall asleep).  This is done so the gentiles could receive salvation. This has no effect of the elect of God.

Ephesians 1:4-12

1:4 foundation G 2602/2598; to throw down (as in the rebellion of Satan, see appendix 146 of companion bible). No volunteering or alter call, but chosen. How cold God know our love for Him? We were with Him in the beginning and because those stood against Satan at the overthrow. He knows our character.

1:5 predestine G 4309; determine before. According to the plan of God this was done.

1:6-7 the elect at times fall short (sin), but through repentance and God’s grace they are forgiven.

1:8 prudence G 5428; intellectual or moral insight, wisdom. Abounded G 4052; to super abound, abundance, have more, exceed. God pours forth wisdom and knowledge toward His elect.

1:9 He reveals the plan and purpose.

1:10 throughout the dispensations of time (1st, 2nd, 3rd earth ages) all will be completed and gathered to Him.

1:11 the elect do things according to the purpose of God. They are also given an allotment/inheritance.

1:12 those elect who stood with God long ago.

Ephesians 3:1-6

3:1-2 Paul was that chosen vessel whom God worked through.

3:3 (compare 1 Tim 3:16). He did this by blinding Paul on the road to Damascus and sending Ananias. This act by Christ revealed He had died and rose again.

3:4 can we?

3:5 ages G 1074; a generation. Made known for a purpose.

3:6 whomsoever will! God’s election are not any better than others. They just chose earlier whom they would serve and follow.

Matthew 19:30/20:1-3/20:13-16

19:30 first: the elect were justified long ago (chosen as first fruits). Last: (compare Psalm 22:30). The remnant are the last generation (to do the work of God).

20:1-3 these are called to the vineyard to work! Regardless of how much work you do or when you were called it is fair to all. Elect or free will, are recompensed according to what is fair by God.  The important part is just getting in the vineyard and working.

20:13-14 all receive equal share for the work done.

20:15-16 it is God’s right to do what He will. God draws many to Him but few answer the call (gives all an opportunity). The chosen or elect are few in number but have a mighty work to do.

The Elect pt.1

God has people that answer the call for Him. The elect are those that stood with God against Satan and his rebellion during the first earth age. They were overcomers then and earned the right to be called God’s elect.

Isaiah 65:1-12

65:1 (compare: Deut 32:21, Rom 10:20-21). Israel was in a bad state with God.

65:2 (compare: Psalm 36:4). What thoughts are we filled with? Are they ours or God’s? These turned from God and sought their own salvation (forsaking God’s outreaching arms).

65:3(compare: Lev 17:5, Jer 2:20). Upon bricks: not upon the golden alter of incense. Not hiding their evil but doing it straight in the face of God.

65:4 monuments H 5341; secret places. This is not what God wanted from His people. They do it right to His face (no shame).

65:5 if these are your works then you are not a Christian but a smoke in the nose of God, no matter what you call yourself. Smoke in the nose is very unpleasant and get discarded very quickly. Day in and day out it’s all the same, no true worship.

65:6 (compare: Deut 32:35). God will recompense to the very inward of the person.

65:7 they will receive the full measure of their punishment.

65:8 on the vine there are good and bad grape clusters. God knows how to discern the two.

65:9 (compare: Matt 24:43). This is how it will be. The elect are those that have been justified. God knows who the good grapes are.

65:10 Sharon H 8589; a plain. Achor H 5911; troubled. This is a reward for those that serve Him. All it takes is to seek after Him. Have we done this?

65:11 troop H 1408; fortune (the Syrian god of fate). Number H 4507; god of destiny (Assyrian). Holy Mountain: Mt. Zion, where God’s throne will be. They forgot about God and made their own idols.

65:12 (compare: Dan 5:25-26). These have been numbered and found wanting. They chose whom they will serve. Answer the call, and be pleasing to God.

John 15:15-16

15:15 how did He let us know? By the word, have you read it? Do you want to be called friend or servant?

15:16 Christ did the choosing. These are called to bring forth fruit. He will give us what we need to bring forth that fruit for Him.

1 Peter 2:6-8

2:6 there is no confusion when we stand upon that ROCK.

2:7-8 many stumble at Christ. Those that are not founded upon the word do stumble. Of you follow traditions of men; the word will become a stumbling block for you. How many people (because of being unlearned in the word) blame God for bad in their life?

1 Peter 1:1-2

1:1-2 foreknowledge G 4267/4253/1097; to know beforehand, foreknow. Spoken to those who knew God/chosen before.

Jeremiah 1:4-10

1:5 sanctified H 6942; make, pronounce, observe as clean. How did He know Jeremiah before he was formed in the womb? How did He already find Jeremiah clean? Jeremiah was alive before.

1:6 child is youth. Jeremiah was a youth at this time.

1:7 speak the word.

1:8 (compare: Acts 26:17, Ezek 2:6). Be not afraid! Do the work for God and fear not, for God is with us. He promised to give all we would need to complete His work (John 15:16).

1:9 (compare: Deut 18:18, Isa 6:6-7, Ezek 2:8-9, Dan 10:16). We must always be fashionable (moldable). Be willing to become what God has called us to be.

1:10 Jeremiah was appointed and installed. Jeremiah was to teach the word of God so many could be saved. As some are saved others will be rooted out and destroyed.

Romans 8:26-31

8:26 in our weakness the Spirit will help us. We don’t know absolutes as God does. This is why we should pray for His will in our lives.

8:27 all things will happen according to His purpose.

8:28 called for His purpose and no others.

8:29 foreknew G 4267; to know beforehand. Predestinate G 4309; to predetermine. The elect were chosen and found innocent long ago.

8:30 justified G 1344; show or regard as innocent. The elect are the people He speaks of.

8:31 it matters not, for God is there.

8:32 He loves us so much that He sent Jesus to die for us.

8:33 God is the only judge, and if you have been found good with God then you are fine.

8:34 He always wins and when we are working for God we shall lack nothing!

Why do you fear? (There is no need)

We have a covenant, or contract with our Heavenly Father. It is His desire that we occasionally remind Him of that covenant. Reminding Him proves that we are familiar His word and have read it.

Isaiah 41:8-20

41:8 we do not rule over God nor are we His equal. We are to be servants of His. If you want His blessings in your life then remember to serve Him.

41:9 God is there for His people.

41:10 (compare: Deut 31:6/8). Strengthen H 553; mentally (in courage), steadfast, stronger.  We are living in troubled times. We must stand upon these words as we walk through this world. When we do the right things we are able to claim these promises.

41:11 unfortunately Christians have enemies in this world. We don’t have to worry about them though. God is still on the throne and our enemies are His enemies as well!

41:12-13 you have a promise of divine help as long as you serve the Lord.

41:14 to be a worm means to be weak. Do we have any weaknesses? As long as God is on our side it matters not! God is strong and able to save, no matter what state we are in.

41:15 (compare: Luke 3:17). The word is our sword! His truth cuts both ways like a two-edged sword. The truth divides the good (wheat) and the bad (chaff), with the chaff being devoured by fire!

41:16-17 poor H 6041; depressed, in mind or circumstance. (Compare: Amos 8:11). Why thirst? God is able to satisfy our physical and spiritual thirst. Seek wisdom and knowledge from Him.

41:18-20 (compare: Isaiah 35:1). All the physical marvels are done by God and not the spirituality of His people. Why would you ever worry or fear? We have divine help if you will seek Him and His word! God calls the enemy nothing. Don’t ever shake and tremble. When you serve God He hears you and helps.

Isaiah 43:13-26

43:13 let it: avert it. Who has the power or authority to prohibit God from doing His work? Who can stop Him? The answer is no one! Trust in God, have the confidence that He is in control.

43:14 redeemer H 1350; kinsman redeemer, next of kin. The enemy is nothing! Where is our strength?

43:15-17 tow is what is left over of a wick after it has burned. It is ash, nothing. The tow has no real substance. Neither does the enemy!

43:18 do you remember how God delivered His people out of Egypt with a mighty hand? Do we remember the works of old? Do you remember whose word always comes to pass? It’s our Fathers!

43:19 the water of Truth is going to flow. Why thirst? Gods deliverance of His people is going to be greater than before (in Egypt).

43:20 dragons H 8577; jackal. Our Father takes care of His own. Fear not!

43:21-22 weary H 3021; to tire. Formed H 3335; to mould. You can’t expect God’s help if you never ask for it.

43:23-24 unfortunately many today do not have time for God. God is ready to forgive sins but they never ask Him for forgiveness!

43:25-26 Pay attention to the last verse. God wants us to remind Him of His promises. Why? He wants to know if you are familiar with them or not. Will not remember: He remembers our infirmities, (which man forgets, Psalm 103:14), but forgets our sins (which man remembers).

Isaiah 44:1-3

44:1-2 Jesurun: compare Deut 32:15-17. This is a name God uses for Israel when they become fat, dumb, happy, and prosperous then leave God. When things go well don’t forget about God.

44:3 that is a promise from God! Claim it! God will pour His Spirit upon those that hunger after Him. He will help you and will intercede for you.

Isaiah 55:1-6

55:1 waters: of life (Rev 22:17). Wine: of gladness (Psalm 104:15). Milk: of nourishment (1 Peter 2:2). Why hunger or thirst, His word is free. You can eat and drink until you are satisfied.

55:2 (compare: John 6:27). This is God’s promise to those who hunger and thirst after Him. He will fill you and you will be satisfied.

55:3 (compare: 2 Sam 7:8-16). These same promises made to David are available to us as well! Claim these promises.

55:4 speaking of Messiah as our example.

55:5-6 seek the Lord while He is available and before it becomes too late. Ask for His help and He will answer!

Matthew 5:1-6

5:1-2 these are the beatitudes. When God speaks we should listen! The word blessed means happy.

5:3 those that do not look to things of this world but the things of God.

5:4 those that have eyes to see and ears to hear mourn for those that don’t. We know the end of those that don’t serve God and we have compassion on them.

5:5-6 righteousness is what is right. We must hunger for the things that are right and we will be filled. This is a promise from our Father, claim it and be filled.

V.O.W (verse of the week)

Luke 10:19

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpants and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Dont let satan ruin your life with fear! Jesus has given us power over the enemy in His Name!! All we need to do is utilize that power given to us and be free from bondage and fear.

The Hand of God

Gods hand works in our lives mightily, and gives us the tools that allow us to be victorious. He teaches us in a way that makes His word simple to understand if we allow Him into our life. As Jesus taught in Rev 3:20: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.” Take notice that action is required on our part. We must open the door and hear what He would say to us with understanding.

John 3:28-36

3:28 these are the words of John the Baptist. Some were trying to stir up jealousy between him and Jesus. John didn’t fall into the trap. He understood his place and role.

3:29 John was happy that the Prophecy of Christ was at hand and being fulfilled. John played a very important part in the wedding ceremonies.

3:30-31 He that is above all is the one knocking at the door. Answer the call and open the door of your heart and mind to let Him in. When you do this, you will lack for nothing.

3:32 if you think earthly and open not the door you will miss out. The wisdom and knowledge you were to partake of will be gone.

3:33 seal G 4972; to stamp (with a signet), for security. The seal of God is that truth sealed in your mind.

3:34-35 measure G 3358; limited portion. God didn’t give Jesus a limited portion of the Holy Spirit. He gave all things into His hand. This is why when Jesus touched someone they were changed.

3:36 wrath G 3713/3709; (permanent) wrath. Open the door when He calls. Those that don’t believe will not have eternal life. He payed an awesome price on the cross for us so we could have the option to open the door.

Mark 1:23-31

1:23-24 the unclean spirit understood who Jesus was and recognized the Power He possessed.

1:25-26 torn G 4682; convulsions. Hold thy peace: Be silent. The unclean spirit had to come out because God place all the power in His hand. Jesus placed the same power in our hand through His name in( Luke 10:17-19).

1:27 Jesus spoke with authority!

1:28-29 fame G 189; hearing of what He accomplished (report of). They went to the house to rest.

1:30-31 anon G 2112; directly, at once. Jesus touched His hand with her hand and she was well. When Jesus touches someone they are changed. The power of the hand of God can do many mighty things!

Luke 11:17-23

11:17 some had accused Jesus of casting out demons in the name of Beelzebub (satan). Satan would not fight against himself. Jesus called on the power of God to cast out the demons.

11:18-19 their sons couldn’t cast out the demons. Fighting amongst themselves brings division.

11:20 this is proof that the power of God was present. It was in Jesus’ hand.

11:21-22 based on the power we possess, satan is stronger than us. But the one who holds all the power is God and He can crush satan. In the name of Jesus Christ we can crush satan also. He gave us the power, what are we doing with it?

11:23 make a stand against those that would scatter His people! The antichrist is coming, we must stand strong.

Isaiah 45:11-12/17-22

45:11-12 this is our Father! The maker and creator of all! His hands are mighty and able.

45:17-18 those that o0vercome will have everlasting life to look forward to. God created the earth inhabited not a waste place. It became void and without form in (Gen 1:1-2), at satans rebellion. God’s hand is strong. He created us for His pleasure (Rev 4:11), make sure we pleasure Him.

45:19-20 God doesn’t keep dark secrets. Come to Him, who has made known the salvation to all.

45:21-22 God alone can save. Don’t look to any other thing!

Isaiah 11:1-11

11:1 Jesse was the father of David and through that seed line would come Christ.

11:2 are you lacking any of these? The ways of the world will leave lacking in many things. Ask of Him and He will give you wisdom and strength.

11:3 the Lord knows your heart and mind. He judges according to this.

11:4 this is prophecy of the Second Advent. Jesus is going to straighten things out. Don’t be alarmed for the righteous have nothing to fear.

11:5-6 this is future and there will be no flesh to offend.

11:7-8 cockatrice H 6848; viper. There will be nothing that offends.

11:9-10 God’s salvation is available to all who believe!

11:11 the power of the hand of God will gather all His people from the four corners of the earth. All will be restored.

V.O.W (verse of the week)

Psalm 18:2

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; My GOD, my strength, in Whom I will trust; My buckler and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Where do we run for help? Where do we run for protection when things get tough? We should all look to God! This is a promise of God to those that trust Him. Are you feeling down, depressed, worried, things of this world taken your happiness? Run to Him and His comfort.

Christ Our Foundation

In this day and age you find many doctrines and foundations for a person to stand on. For Christians there is only one foundation; that foundation is Jesus Christ! Don’t let anyone pull you away with false statements that will make your foundation crumble. Stick with The Rock which is Christ and don’t be shaken.

1 Corinthians 3:1-16

3:1 carnal G 4559; pertaining unto flesh. These were new students and Paul was unable to speak on spiritual things because they would not understand. When faced with this situation, start at the student’s level and bring them up to the spiritual level.

3:2 these were not able for the meat of God’s word yet. They weren’t ready for what happened in the garden, the kenites, or the coming antichrist (for example). Teach God’s word gently and with wisdom.

3:3 we are to strive for things of the Spirit and not things of the flesh that ruin our day. Don’t sweat the small stuff! Don’t allow unimportant things to pull you off track!

3:4 who is the foundation of the church? It is Christ, not men. These were becoming divisive and denominational.

3:5-6 ministers G 1249; servant. We can teach the word but it’s God who touches the heart and minds of people. Don’t forget to give God the Glory and credit for the increase.

3:7-8 we are all workers for the same master (God). We will all receive what we deserve.

3:9 husbandry G 1091; a tilled farm. Building: compare 2 Cor 5:1, Eph 2:21-22. If we are working for God, nothing shall sidetrack that work.

3:10 our foundation is Christ! Be a wise builder upon that foundation. We will be accountable for what we put on that foundation.

3:11 our foundation is our Rock. When we stand on that Rock we cannot be shaken or moved!

3:12-13 all these things are perishable (wood, rock, gold, precious stones, silver, hay and stubble. Compare 1 Pet 1:7). The day: is the day of the Lord. God is a consuming fire. Our works will be tested by fire. Don’t add anything to the foundation that isn’t true to God’s word. Perishable things don’t last long on fire.

3:14-16 abide G 3306; to last. If our works can withstand the fire they will be found true and we shall receive a reward. If the works cannot withstand the fire they will be burned up but we can be saved. We shall be tried and found true if we repent and do the right things. When teaching others don’t place anything on the foundation that will not last.

2 Timothy 2:1-16

2:1-2 use the example set before us. Plant seed and let God bring the increase.

2:3-4 hardness G 2553; affliction, hardship, trouble. We battle not flesh and blood but spirits upon high (spiritual warfare). Don’t let the things of this world get in our way; for the thins of this world are against the One who called us to be soldiers.

2:5-7 strive G 118; contend. Husbandman G 1092; farmer. Do all things within the law. If you work for God, He will see that you receive the fruits of your labor.

2:8-9 Afflictions will come but fear not.

2:10 we endure for the sake of those called.

2:11-12 be diligent to know what is being built upon your foundation. It could cost you a spot in heaven and eternal life.

2:13-14 subverting G 2692; overthrow, demolition, overturn. Don’t dispute needless things, rather stick to God’s word and move on.

2:15 approved G 1384; acceptable. Rightly dividing the word means considering who it was written to? What is the subject? Which dispensation was it written to? Study the word and you will not become confused.

2:16 profane G 952; heathen wicked. We are in the generation of the fig tree. You will hear more and more profane and vain doctrines. Don’t be moved from the foundation which is Christ.

Ephesians 2:12-22

2:12 aliens G 526; non participant. Commonwealth G 4174; citizenship. This is a sad state to be in. Unfortunately many people place themselves there willingly. These people don’t care about God or His word. They have miserable, confused and mixed up lives. They have no foundation.

2:13-15 enmity G 2189; hostility, reason for opposition. No more are there supposed to be division, but togetherness through Christ. We are to serve Christ and no other.

2:16-17 Jesus opened salvation to all. No more division!

2:18-19 through Christ we become a part of the household or family of God.

2:20 this is the foundation you want to stand on. Don’t ever let anyone pull you away from it with enticing words or falsehoods.

2:21-22 habitation G 2732; dwelling place. The many membered body is the Temple. If Christ is our foundation, the Holy Spirit dwells within you.

Hebrews 12:25-27

12:25 for some to refuse the Holy Spirit is unpardonable.

12: 26 God shook the earth at the time of the “katabole”, that is to say satans rebellion. God will shake the bad out of heaven and earth in the future. Where is your foundation?

12:27 where are you going to be? I hope you are on the foundation that cannot be shaken. That foundation is Jesus Christ! It is of great importance that you be found on solid ground when the shaking begins!
