Can you be shaken?

During these end times, we must learn to be unshakable. Many things try to come against us, things that try and separate us from our Father. Adversity can only strengthen us and build our faith in God. Remember God is still on the throne, and we are His children.

James 1:1-12

1:1 servant G 1401; slave. This is written to the twelve tribes of Israel. We are to be servants that listen and follow every word our Father says to us.

1:2 temptation G 3986; a putting to proof, trials. Regardless of the temptations that come against us, we are to be unshakable. If you are in Christ, then you have built your house upon the Rock that cannot be moved!

1:3-4 perfect G 5046; complete.  Those trials that really make us mad can be constructive; they can bring patience to us (which we all need at times). Let God make us complete, so we are able to handle the things that may come. We are going to do things on God’s schedule, not ours.

1:5 upbraideth G 3679; chide, revile. When you don’t understand things, ask our Father. He generously gives wisdom to those that seek it, liberally.

1:6 don’t ever waver or shake when serving God. We must stand in faith and have patience, believing God can do all things. A wavering person will be as a wave that is driven by water and then hits the shore amounting to nothing.

1:7 a person that allows storms of this life to toss them to and fro is hard for God to use. God needs those that stand firm and can’t be shaken.

1:8 to be upon the Rock, Jesus Christ is to be on solid ground (unshakable).

1:9-10 (compare: Romans 12:16, Matt 23:12). Those who humble themselves before God are exalted and those that exalt themselves will be humbled. Rich and poor men all share the same fate (they all die in the flesh). A rich man who humbles himself before God can rejoice.

1:11 wealth has a way of drawing people away from God; unfortunately material things don’t last too long. There is nothing wrong with wealth, as long as it isn’t ill-gotten gain. The goal is eternity, not the riches of this world!

1:12 endure until the end and you will gain access into heaven!

Ephesians 3:1-21

3:1-2 Paul was struck down by God on the road to Damascus. This personal visit from God allowed him to be unshakable. God gave Paul a gift (as we all have gifts); this makes us unshakable and able to handle the trials to come.

3:3 God gave Paul truth about things many today still don’t understand (three world ages, returning to Christ, etc.).

3:4-5 when you ask, the Holy Spirit will give you understanding and wisdom. Have you asked? Remember be patient.

3:6 the gospel is the good news that God delivered by Christ to Paul. God gave Paul the gift to share the good news to whomsoever would listen.

3:7 when the power of God works in a minister, people are going to be helped, and lives changed. People will become unshakable because of the truth they will hear and read. Many people are in need of truth in this troubled time.

3:8-9 through Christ and the Holy Spirit we have been told of the mystery. We have been told what must come to pass and will accomplish our part in it. We are unshakable in our desire to accomplish God’s will.

3:10-12 Christ rent the veil from top to bottom (compare: Matt 27:51). We now have direct access to the Most High! We can approach God with our love.

3:13 Paul was in prison much of the time he wrote these letters. Paul went through a lot of tribulation for God; it didn’t bother him and he didn’t want it to bother us. He was unshakable, and knew what was important.

3:14-16 Paul was never shaken; he knew where his strength came from. If you are ever in need of strength, remember this verse. Put on the gospel armour of God (Ephesians 6) and be ready to stand!

3:17-19 when the love of Christ fills your life, you can stand against anything. That love will allow us to do the work of God and want to help others that are lost. We have all had that person in our lives show us the love of Christ that brought us back!

3:20-21 with God’s power nothing is impossible! Remember it isn’t us, but the power that works through us.

Hebrews 10:7-22

10:7-8 Christ did away with the old burnt offerings and paid the price once and for all!

10:9-10 the second covenant was established by Christ for us.

10:11-12 we can now repent of our sins and be washed in the blood of the Lamb. That forgiveness allows us to be unshakable. We know where our hope and strength is.

10:13 who will make His enemies His footstool? The unshakable ones of course will do this.

10:14-17 after your sins have been forgiven, forget about them. Are God’s laws in your heart and mind?

10:18-19 we have access to Him, let Him know you love Him and are ready to do His will.

10:20-22 we can draw near because we have washed our sins in the Living Water. Remember you are an unshakable child of God!
