Gods Power

God is in control and show us that in the bible many times. We must not let the things of this world distract us or lead us astray.

Jeremiah 10:12

10:12 world H 8398; the habitable world. He created things just as they should be; there was no big bang!

Psalms 62:1-12

62:1-2 waiteth H 1747; wait in silence. Accept Christ as your personal savior; it is the only way to eternal life. He is your protector. When times of trouble come, who do you run to?

62:3 how are your thoughts toward others; God will punish those who do evil to others. Those people are unstable and ready to fall at the slightest touch.

62:4 these evil people find pleasure in lies and tearing people down instead of lifting them up. Selah: this is a pause where we are to reflect on things said. Here the pause is for us to connect the enmity of his foes with his trust in God.

62:5-6 our full hope and trust is in God. He is the one we run to in times of trouble. When we do this we cannot be moved or shaken by what others would try and do to us. We must build our foundation upon the ROCK! (Compare Matthew 7:24-25).

62:7 my salvation depends upon God alone. Do you believe this?

62:8 in good or bad He is the one we run to for protection. Selah: the break here connects his trust in God with the nothingness of man.

62:9 vanity H1892; nothingness, emptiness. People who are evil and those who think to highly of themselves are nothing. Without God we are full of emptiness and lies we build for ourselves.

62:10 oppression H 6233; unjust gain, fraud. Do not trust in things of the world that have been acquired by evil actions. Treat people fairly and honestly in all dealings because God is always watching.

62:11-12 all power is of God! Don’t fool yourself and think that any material thing can take the place of what God does for you. We are paid by the things done for God…..how are we doing?

1 Kings 18:19-40

18:19-20 we have a battle in the making; God vs. Satan (Baal worshippers). There are many more Baal worshippers and the flesh would tell you Elijah could not stand against such a great army of people. Elijah stands with God, and if God be for us who can be against us! (Compare Romans 8:31).

18:21-22 we have a choice, serve God or Satan. You cannot serve both; we must decide who we will serve.

18:23-24 their god is man-made and Elijah knows it cannot bring fire down to consume anything.

18:25-26 they were putting their trust in man made things. God was not part of what they were doing, and if God is not in your actions then they will fail!

18:27-29 Elijah was giving them a hard time because I am sure it looked a little ridiculous. Elijah at one point even tells them that maybe their god is out on a “potty” break. We are to worship God in spirit and in truth. These Baal prophets are getting the flesh into it; be wary of places that try and get your flesh into the worship of God. Of course there is no answer from their god.

18:30-35 Elijah repairs the altar that had been purposely broken down by these people. There will be no doubt to the miraculous power of God and that He is the only God! Water is saturating everything and there would be no physical way it could be lit on fire without the help of God.

18:36-37 always give God the glory and praise for His mighty work. You see that Elijah doesn’t get crazy or start dancing around as the Baal worshippers; he simply petitions God to do a mighty work.

18:38-39 when God shows Himself it is awesome! There is no doubt that God is in charge.

18:40 those that do not serve God will come to a tragic end. That end could be missing out on eternal life. Sorrows, trouble and heartache will also find you here on earth when you choose to do things on your own.

Matthew 19:26

19:26 with God all things are possible! You must believe this and live by it everyday.

Passover 2014

This is a wonderful time where we as believers come together, celebrate and reflect on the gift that is the Passover lamb (Jesus Christ). He died for us on the cross so we can have the gift of eternal life if you will accept it.

Exodus 12:23-27

12:23 The blood used was from a Passover lamb; that lamb is Jesus Christ. He shed His blood on the cross so we can have victory over the evil that would try and come into our houses and destroy us.

12:24 We are to observe this forever! Christ paid a mighty price for us. Remember that the focus is on Him and not “things” this world would try and use to steal our attention.

12:25-27 Do you have the blood of Jesus protecting your house? We are to teach our children and others about this wonderful gift paid for us. Do you celebrate Easter or Passover? What legacy are you leaving?

Psalm 22:1-31 (written by David concerning his son and Christ)

22:1 roaring H 7581; lamentation.

22:2 gets no rest day or night. Don’t worry God hears our prayers.

22:3 HE deserves our praises, HE is holy. In the good or bad times remember this.

22:4 (compare Deut 4:31 and Heb 13:5). Believe upon HIM and you will be delivered!

22:6 worm H 8438; crimson worm (from which scarlet dye comes from). I am sure David like Christ felt a little bloodied and beaten.

22:7-8 quoted in (Matt 27:43). Remember it is the enemies of Christ that quoted this in Matthew. This should give you comfort that God is in control.

22:9-10 loved Him from the beginning.

22:12 bulls H 6499; as breaking forth in wild strength. Bashan: known for having strong animals.

22:13 gaped H 6475; to rend, to open. HE went through this for us! HE did not open His mouth.

22:14 as HE hung on the cross, His bones pulled out of socket. A brutal way to die.

22:15 (compare John 19:38). Potsherd H 2789; a piece of pottery.

22:16 (compare Gen 3:15). Dogs: “Enemies” (as being implied). They nailed Him to the cross! This was written to give validation that God is all! We must put God in remembrance of His promises (Isa 43:26). If you don’t know them or haven’t read them you are out of luck.

22:17 tell H 5608; count. This recounts death by crucifixion (what it did to His body).

22:18 quoted in (Matt 27:35). Gives validation to all that was done by Christ.

22:19 don’t be afraid to seek the help of God; He will be there for you.

22:20 darling H 3173; only one (prized possession). Power H 3027; hand. Dog: enemy. God delivers us from the enemy as well. Just ask for the help and accept salvation and victory.

22:21 unicorn H 7214; wild bull (same as v:12).

22:22 (compare Heb 2:12-13). I will declare: Christs words in resurrection. HE came to destroy the power of death (satan), (compare Heb 2:14).

22:23 fear H 3373; morally revere. He paid a mighty price for our salvation.

22:24 HE always hears the prayers of the righteous but will answer according to what is beneficial for you.

22:25 God doesn’t keep people by fear but rather love of wanting to worship Him (revere).

22:26 meek H 6035; humble. If we partake of the salvation Christ died for, we will live forever with Him. We must seek Him.

22:27 (compare Rom 14:11). Every knee shall bow and tongue confess Jesus Christ is Lord.

22:28 (compare Matt 6:13).

22:29 all they that be fat: all the great people. Shall bow: (compare Phil 2:9-11). Nobody can keep themselves alive, for only God is in control.

22:30 (compare Isa 53:10). Generation: the generation of the fig tree (since 1948 when Israel became a nation, Jeremiah 24).

22:31 (compare John 19:30). He hath done this: this is the same as “it is finished”. This gives validation that Christ taught this entire Psalm on the cross.

The sweet savor

The sweet savor we offer God ensures we are in His good pleasure.

Genesis 8:18-22

8:18-19 The Lord had just brought them out from a mighty event (the flood) safe and sound. They will show their gratitude to God.

8:20 Noah wasn’t instructed to do this; he did it on his own because he loved the Lord! Noah had 7 of every clean animal on the arc.

8:21 God accepted the offering from Noah and was very pleased with him.

8:22 Don’t listen to what man would say; there will not be a global warming that stops winters from happening. God stated in this verse that summer and winter will never stop. Who are you listening too?

Isaiah 65:1-9

65:1 Israel was not pleasing our Father like Noah was. We must know what makes our Father happy and sad. Pleasing Him brings His good will on us (quoted in Romans 10:20-21).

65:2 rebellious people walk according to their own desires and way; their way is usually contrary to God’s way. Thoughts H 4284; intention, plan, plot, cunning work (good or bad).

65:3 They burnt incense upon altars of brick alongside the heathen and not the golden altar of incense as God instructed (compare Lev 17:5).

65:4 the rebellious children were not following any of God’s laws.

65:5 smoke in your nose is annoying and the total opposite of a sweet savor.

65:6-7 do not join in with this group. They will be repaid for their acts.

65:8 those that serve God will not be destroyed, only the bad. No matter if the good and bad are mingled together, the good will be saved!

65:9 give God the sweet savor He deserves. We don’t sacrifice animals to Him anymore but what He wants from us is our love (Hos 6:6).

Ezekiel 20:27-41

20:27 many worshipped false idols and left God’s love. This is a very big trespass against God.

20:28 God brought them into the land and they repay Him with idol worship.

20:29 the high place they should be going to is Zion (Holy Mountain) not this place of Baal worship.

20:30-31 pass through the fire: this is the worship of Moloch. They sent their children to death for that idol. We must not send our children to a spiritual death by deception from the antichrist.

20:32 it is your choice, to serve the Living God or things made with wood and stone by your own hand.

20:33 the Lord is in charge! It is much better to have Him happy with you than unhappy.

20:34-35 this is a lecture I would want to skip. If you are found to be doing wrong then kiss the paddle, repent to God and move on.

20:36-37 (compare Amos 9:9) the rod was used by the shepherd to count His sheep so none were lost. The hook at the end of the rod helped separate the sheep into the different flocks. Don’t be separated from the flock of God; offer some sweet savor to Him.

20:38 this is God separating the flock.

20:39 if you go to worship the idols don’t call on the Lord as your Father; He is done with you.

20:40 God loves us and wants us to give that sweet savor to Him.

20:41 don’t let false teachings sway you from the love God has for us. Return that love to Him!

2 Corinthians 2:10-17

2:10-11 studying Gods word helps us recognize Satan’s tricks.

2:12-14 no matter where we are; if God be with us then we cannot fail!

2:15 we understand the Word of God and will not be fooled by Satan’s tricks.

2:16-17 we help carry out the plan of God. Sometimes that means sending some to the devil (death) and others to the Father. Be a sweet savor in the nose of our Father.

Psalm 91

This Psalm deals with rest in and through the Messiah. This Psalm was probably written by Moses.

Psalm 91:1-16
91:1 THE ALMIGHTY H 7706; the giver of grace. The word “abide” and mansion (John 14:2) are similar. We can find peace and rest in Him now!
91:2 The “I” here is Messiah speaking. This is also referencing those that follow God. The people who left Egypt perished in the wilderness for not trusting THE LORD.
91:3 “fowler” is a person who sets traps for birds. Satan sets many traps for the children of God; don’t let him catch you!
91:4 Do you know His word? We are to put on the gospel armor (Ephesian 6). Our Father is like a mighty eagle that protects His young (Deut 32:11).
91:5-6 when we are in our Fathers word we have no fear of the traps Satan will set because we know the lies and deceit he brings. We need not fear the death angel.
91:7-8 these shall fall by deception because they are unfamiliar with the lies of Satan or the word of God (compare: Rev 13:8). The wicked do not get ahead; their reward is the lake of fire. Don’t be deceived!
91:9-10 if you dwell with the Lord and get into His word then there is no way we can be deceived. We have nothing to fear.
91:11-12 this is the scripture Satan attempted to trick Jesus in Matthew 4:6. Satan switched the verse up and did not quote it correctly; we know the subtleties Satan uses. Matthew 18:10 says Gods children have an angel watching us that has the face of God at any time needed. Satan will be coming back quoting scripture and hit you in your vulnerable areas; if you don’t know the differences then you will be deceived!
91:13 these are names for Satan (compare: Luke 10:18-19). This is written to Messiah and His followers.
91:14 this is God speaking of Christ. Do we know our Fathers name and word?
91:15 this is God speaking of His Son.
91:16 we are rewarded with eternal life.

The Word of God

Regardless of popular belief, Gods word will never change. It is the same yesterday, today and forever! The words in the bible deal with the problems of today just as they did 2,000 years ago. If we choose to forget the words in the bible or neglect the reading of them we could find ourselves on the wrong path very fast. Many will be deceived due to that sort of neglect; deception is rampant and lack of knowledge abounds.

Jeremiah 35:1-19

35:1-2 Rechabites: these were of the Kenites (sons of Cain). This is that wicked seed of Satan that would eventually crucify Jesus (compare: 1 Chronicles 2:55). They had eventually become scribes in the house of Judah.

35:3-5 this Jeremiah is not the Jeremiah of this book; he is an imposter. They are being asked to take a sort of communion in the house of God. Remember, they are of that wicked seed. Will they follow Gods word or their fathers?

35:6-7 they were instructed to do this from their fathers because Cain was cursed from God so that the earth would not yield her fruit and he would always be a vagabond (Gen 4:11-12). They are descendants of Cain so they face the same curse.

35:8-10 they were loyal to their father; God must have been disappointed in His children a little for they didn’t follow His instruction.

35:11 the Kenites worked their way into the house of Judah. They became scribes for them so be aware of who is translating things for you.

35:12-14 how many of Gods children listen to His word? It is sad when the enemies children follow every word they speak yet the followers of God do not.

35:15 God sends us these to teach us and help us get through life victoriously! The time is growing shorter and the end will be here sooner rather than later. We better start listening to the word now!

35:16-17 God warns us over and over again. God will not bring bad upon people but due to their unwillingness to follow his instruction bad will come upon them. God’s word brings peace and a way to avoid evil. Don’t listen to that instruction and bad will happen.

35:18-19 God respected their decision to follow the commands of their fathers. Even though they were the negative part to Gods plan, they were disciplined. They still have men stand in front of God representing them; it is our job to understand the deception they bring.

Daniel 11:36-45

11:36 this is speaking of the false one who comes at the sixth trump. Many will think he is Jesus Christ, we will know he is the antichrist. We are disciplined in the word of God so we won’t be deceived.

11:37-38 antichrist (Satan) will set himself up to be Jesus Christ. He will deceive with worldly riches and wealth.

11:43 this gives reference to the locust army of Rev 9.  We must be aware of who is coming and the tricks he uses.

11:44 antichrist will be angry with his enemies; we should be proud to be a part of this group! Will he be successful at destroying his enemies?

11:45 of course he will not be successful. God will destroy the power of the enemy at the seventh trump. Those that are not deceived will be speaking out and witnessing against the antichrist.

1 Corinthians 8:5-6

8:5-6 there are many fakes out there but only one way to heaven; that is though the one true God. We do this by accepting Jesus Christ as our savior.

Acts 17:22-25

17:22-24 the people of Mars hill were taught to worship all things except the God of heaven. Many today are like this as they are taught many falsehoods except the truth! The God of heaven and earth doesn’t need men to build Him a house.

17:25 we should all depend on our Father, the maker and controller of all things. If you study the word of God, He is the known God and not unknown. Many will be deceived, we are to make sure this doesn’t happen.

Revelation 13:3-8

13:3 the beast is the one world political system that antichrist will use to bring about his plan. Antichrist comes in peacefully and prosperously, heals the political system and climate while gaining the love and affection of the masses.

13:4-5 as we read in Daniel, the antichrist will blaspheme the true God and magnify himself above all.

13:6 he will blaspheme all good things.

13:7 he is given power over the elect only so they will be delivered up to witness against him!

13:8 our names are written in the book of life because we know the truth. We will not be deceived as many others will. Stay in the word of God and be blessed.

Endurance

Endurance is the focus of this study. How do we gain the endurance to make it through to eternity and heaven; it is the word of God that brings us the endurance to make it. Job was a very good example of enduring the bad and sticking to what God would say.

Job 2:1-10

2:1 Sons of God: begotten of God (Angelic beings). They came to give an account before God.

2:2 Satan’s spirit can still do this but Satan himself is locked up until he is kicked out of heaven (compare: Rev
12:7-9, Jude 1:6).

2:3 perfect H8535; complete. Integrity H8538; innocent. Even though Job is persecuted he stands firm with God! (Compare: Job 1:13-22).

2:4-5 Satan is saying that if Job’s flesh is sickened he will curse God to his face. Bone H6106; body. How do we act when our flesh body becomes a little ill? Do we quit when things get rough? Do we have endurance when things get rough?

2:6-7 Satan can do whatever he wants to Job, he just can’t take his life. Remember, God is always in control!

2:8-9 this is a very sad sight to see; on top of that his wife is telling him to curse God and die.

2:10 regardless of good or bad in life, we must always stick with God and endure! Remember, the bad in your life may be so you can show others how to handle it.

Hebrews 11:23-29

11:23-25 Moses denied he was an Egyptian, and from the house of the king. He chose the way of God over the ways of the world that would bring sin and death. What would we choose?

11:26-29 Moses knew where salvation was to come from. He did not fear the king who was visible in the flesh to him rather followed the living God who controls all things. Had faith in God to believe He would carry them through (compare: Romans 1:20).

Romans 4:16-25

4:16-17 grace: unmerited favor. Through Abraham would come the seed line of Christ. We can all partake of the promises of God. God tells of the future and corrects the past; put your trust in Him.

4:18-19 (compare: Gen 15:5).He believed in the promise of God over the world views and perception of them being too old to bare children. Trust in God over everything else.

4:20-22 staggered G1252; sever, withdraw, appose. Abraham had FAITH in what God said over what the world would say or believe.

4:23-25 having faith in these promises will be counted toward us also if we believe. We must believe also that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead for our benefit.

Matthew 24:11-15  (What they shall endure)

24:11 many will rise and deceive! Do you know how to discern them from others? Check them out with the word of God.

24:12-13 lack of people knowing the word of God and being deceived by those false prophets will lead to love growing colder toward each other. It will and is happening now; we must endure.

24:14-15 those elect will stand to give a testimony before the antichrist. The words will be given to us by the Holy Spirit (compare: Mark 13:11). Verse 15 speaks of the antichrist claiming to be the true messiah; will you know the difference? (Compare: Dan12:11).

Isaiah 42:8-16

42:8 God is the only God! Don’t follow fakes or the antichrist when he comes claiming to be Jesus.

42:9 if He speaks it, it will happen. He is control, have FAITH in that.

42:10-12 let the whole world give Him praise no matter where you are!

42:13 mighty man H1368; warrior, powerful. We have nothing to fear or worry about. Endure until the end and don’t stray from God.

42:14 God is patient as a pregnant woman waiting to give birth. But when it is time to give birth (new age) He will handle the enemies.

42:15-16 (compare: 2 Peter 3:9). Those who were spiritually blind will be shown the way to righteousness. God loves His children and will not forsake them. Stay in His word and endure till the end.

Rightly Handled

We are going to learn about following that straight path and avoiding the crooked path that would lead us astray.

Proverbs 3:1-8

3:1-2 commandment and law all reference the Word of God and the rules in it. Doing things God’s way will bring all these wonderful things into your life.

3:3-4 bind H7194; mentally bind up. Following the word of God and its statutes will bring goodness along with it.

3:5 poor or incorrect understanding will lead you astray. Having incorrect understanding will put you on the wrong road in life. Seek God first in everything and wait for His direction.

3:6 we acknowledge Him by prayer or talking to Him. This will ensure you are on the right path.

3:7-8 fear H 3372; morally revere. Fully trust in God and He shall supply all your needs.

Proverbs 11:1-6

11:1 all cheating is seen by God. There is no hiding from it and God looks at it as an abomination.

11:2-3 humbleness brings wisdom and direction down the right path in life. Pride brings shame and destruction for all who follow this path.

11:4-5 perfect H 8549; complete. Those who are honest do things right. Those that seek to do evil and cheat others will fall by their own evil works.

11:6 naughtiness H 1942; evil desire. Those that do what is right will stay out of trouble. The evil desires of those others will lead them to destruction.

2 Timothy 2:10-15

2:10 we should be focused on the eternity and not the worries of this world. If you have any false scales or deceit toward others get rid of it. Keep Gods word close to our hearts and be blessed.

2:11 we must let our worldly desires fall away and seek those things of God! We must keep the eternity in focus and not the things of this world that would be gone so quickly.

2:12 Christ suffered for the Truth, so will we. Don’t let this bother us, if only one seed planted ever blooms then it is worth all the problems.

2:13-14 the empty words we say to prove how smart and good we are profit no one. Words that help save lost souls and lift others up are profitable to everyone.

2:15 rightly divide G 3718; to make a straight cut. Handling the word of God correctly will allow your path in life to be straight and smooth. We have a choice; a smooth road or a bumpy hard one.

Hebrews 9:1-15

9:1 the first covenant with man wasn’t from heaven; God was residing with the children of Israel in an earthly tent.

9:2 the tent is referred to as the Mosaic tabernacle. The sanctuary was a holy place.

9:3-4 manna: Gods word that feeds and nourishes us. Aaron’s rod: symbolic of how He chose that house to be priests for Him. Ten commands: instruct us in our relationship with God and man.

9:5-7 only on the Day of Atonement, once a year was the high priest allowed in the Holy of Holies where the Ark of the Covenant was located.

9:8 Christ made that way into the Holy of Holies by His blood shed on the cross. The veil was ripped from top to bottom. He became that new tabernacle for us.

9:9-10 the old ways led to the new. Christ is that way into the Holy of Holies. Study the word and be blessed.

9:11-12 His blood paid the price. If you believe that and on Him, then eternal life is yours.

9:13-14 we serve our Father by opening that road of communication to Him. It makes our Father’s day when we tell Him we love Him and talk with Him.

9:15 Jesus Christ is the road to salvation.

John 14:3-9

14:3-4 He is explaining to the disciples that He will be leaving soon but they should know the way to Him.

14:5 Doubting Thomas was thinking in the flesh and not in the Spirit.

14:6 the way they were to follow was through Jesus to the Father; not a physical road.

14:7-9 Jesus paid a heavy price so we can have admittance unto the Father. He opened that road for us to follow. Follow the straight path and avoid the crooked one that leads to hell.
