Hell

We are going to discuss today whether there is a burning hell as people describe in a lot of stories. We are going to look what the scripture has to say on this subject. There is a lake of fire, but that is for judgment at the end of the millennium. We must remember a few things: the bodies thrown into the lake of fire will be spiritual and not flesh; God and the Holy Spirit are symbolized as fire throughout the bible. The fire comforts His people but hurts those who are His enemy. Many today give Satan too much credit, he is not able to condemn any one to hell or sentence them to death. For Satan himself is sentenced to die and is the lowest of lows (Ezekiel 28:18-19).  So don’t be afraid of him, for we have power over him (Luke 10:19).

Exodus 3:2-6

3:2 the very presence of God was there. This is an example of God showing himself to be fire. This is the flame of God. This flame will not hurt His people.

3:3-4 He wanted to see what was going on. Remember in Dan 3 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were also thrown into a fire and nothing was harmed on them. When God calls we must answer!

3:5 holy H 6944; sacred, set apart (for God).

3:6 there are beliefs that if you look upon God’s face you will die. Remember God is in a different dimension and we can only see His face when we are in the transition of dying or dead.

Exodus 14:19-20

14:19-20 the Egyptians are trying to overtake the children of God. That fire was only seen by the children of God and appeared as nothing to the Egyptians. God takes care of His people, He surrounds us and nothing can harm us.

Exodus 24:16-17

24:16-17 devouring H 398; consume, burn up, to eat. Don’t fear God (as being scared), rather reverence Him! He is not looking to harm His people but to help.

Hebrews 12:20-29

12:20-21 terrible G 5398; frightful, fearful. Fear G 1630; frightened out of ones wits. It was definitely quit the sight to see.

12:22-23 innumerable company G 3461; a myriad, indefinite number. General assembly G 3831; a mass meeting, universal companionship. Perfect G 5048/5046; to complete, mature. We are perfected by the Glory of God and His word matures us. God is the judge of all!

12:24 mediator G 3316; a go-between, a reconciler. Christ blood was spread on the cross and was much nobler than that of Abel’s. New covenant: this is the New Testament, when He paid the price.

12:25 they didn’t listen to the ones God spoke through on earth (Moses, prophets) and perished. If they listen not to God directly, their soul could be destroyed.  What happened when they didn’t listen to Moses, or what happened at Sodom and Gomorrah?

12:26 this is speaking of the Second Advent; when Satan is kicked out of heaven and the Lord comes back to make things right. (Compare: Hag 2:6-7).

12:27 where is our house built, is it on the sand or the Rock? (Compare Matt 7:24-29). We as believers and followers of Christ will remain and won’t be fooled by the deception of Satan. All the evil and things that offend will be done away with.

12:28 the Kingdom of God cannot be moved! Because of this, we must serve Him with all reverence and want to help others.

12:29 consume G 2654; to consume utterly. If you are bad, then you are utterly consumed, to never be again. If He loves you, then you are encompassed with that warmth from our Father. We are to be Ministers of Fire for God (compare: Psalms 104:4).

In the Old Testament (Hebrew) when the word hell is used it is Sheol. The word means grave, hell or pit. 54% of the time in the Old Testament it is translated grave, 5% of the time its translated pit, 41% of the time its translated hell. Is the grave hell, no because people are not in the grave, they are with God once they die. In the New Testament (Greek) we have hell translated hades, or Gehenna. Hades is a word that means a place for the departed (grave, hole or whatever). Gehenna was a place where the people practiced Molochism (it was a valley in Jerusalem). This is where they made children; people pass through the fire for their god Moloch (they burned the people to death). This valley was where the city threw all its garbage (decaying food, animals, waste, etc. to be burned). There will be no burning hell as people speak of until after judgment, when those that don’t make it are thrown into the lake of fire.

Jeremiah 32:32-35

32:32-33 they listen not to God and turn not to Him, they insult God!

32:34 The House of God is to be filled with the things of God not idols or abominations (like Easter eggs, Santa clause and many other things).

32:35 they sacrificed their children by fire to this deity. God commanded them not to burn their children!

Luke 16:19-31

16:19 purple: this was the color of royalty. This guy was living the high life.

16:20 most beggars stayed by the gates to the city.

16:21 he was in a bad state of being. At least the dogs were showing compassion for him.

16:22 the Pharisees taught there were 3 places you could go when you died. (1) Abrahams bosom, (2) under the throne of glory and (3) in the Garden of Eden (paradise). Buried G 2290; to celebrate funeral rites (big celebration).

16:23 hell G 86; hades, grave. He was able to see those in heaven. The rich man is not in a hole in the ground and is able to communicate with those in heaven.

16:24 tormented G 3600; to grieve, sorrow, torment. The rich man was not in a fire burning but was in deep sorrow for he could see the goodness Lazarus was in. Water: that water that is Jesus Christ. The rich man wants another chance, so he can make better decisions in his life and make it to heaven.

16:25 tormented G 3600/3601/1416; to grieve. The rich man cared too much for the things of the world while he was alive.

16:26 gulf G 5490; chasm. There is a gap that cannot be crossed by those on the good side and those on the bad.

16:27-28 the rich man is showing some compassion by wanting to have his brothers saved.

16:29 they have the bible, let them hear and read it and be saved!

16:30-31 remember Christ rose from the dead and many today believe not! Many today ask for signs and wonders in order to believe Christ is real, have faith and believe!

Matthew 10:28

10:28 destroy G 622; to destroy fully. Only God is able to destroy (blot out) your soul in the lake of fire. This is final and called the second death. (Compare: Rev 20:14).

Revelation 20:10-15

20:10 for ever and ever: for a long time (forever). Satan (and his roles, beast/false prophet) will be done away with forever. This is after the millennium and during judgment.

20:11 this is the time of the third earth age.

20:12 dead: those that follow Satan (those on the other side of the gulf), (compare: Rev 20:5). They are judged according to the work they have done.

20:13 sea: this is speaking of the people (compare: Rev 17:15). Those that did not follow God will be judged for their works.

20:14 there will be no more death. Second death: this is death of the soul. There will only be good things in the eternity; all things that offend will be done away with.

20:15 death of the soul means it no longer exists, it is finished!

Revelation 21:8

21:8 death of the soul (blotted out).

Ezekiel 28:18-19

28:18-19 he will never be anymore! He will not burn forever and ever, but destroyed too never be again.

Revelation ch 6:9-17

We are continuing the teaching on the seals. It is important to remember that the seals are not in chronological order but in a teaching order, to show what must happen first. We see in the first seal a person riding on a white horse with a crown, don’t be fooled that is Satan as the antichrist; we must know so we don’t worship the wrong person.

Ch. 6:9-17

5^th seal

6:9 these were those that were slain for the words sake. They were not lying in a hole in the ground but in heaven with our Father, remember to be absent from this body is to be present with God (compare: 2 Cor 5:8).

6:10 they are asking how long the Lord is going to wait before He takes His vengeance upon them.

6:11 white robes: we will see that our white robes are made up of our righteous acts. They are told to wait a while until the time comes. Some people will have to give the ultimate sacrifice, as many have already done in other countries for the words sake.

Mark 13:9-23 (we will continue to cross reference Mark and Revelations concerning the seals)

 13:9 we will be brought into the synagogue of Satan for a testimony against them. This is where the Holy Spirit will speak through you. Fear not for we shall not be harmed (compare: Luke 21:18).

13:10 this is the purpose of all this happening. Many people claim to have brought the word around the world but not like this!

13:11 that hour: the hour of temptation. This is how the truth will be spread around the world. The same tongue that was spoken on Pentecost, when all heard in their own dialect and needed not an interpreter (compare: Joel 

2, Acts 2). If you are delivered up before Satan, allow the Holy Spirit to speak!

13:12 death: this is another name of Satan. A parent would never deliver their children to die (on a mass scale/worldwide, as this speaks of) or children their parents. They will be doing this because they will think the antichrist is Jesus. Don’t be deceived! (Remember Luke 10:19).

13:13 the truth upsets many.

13:14 (compare: Dan 9:27, 12:11). It: (he) this is speaking of Satan. This is Satan (the desolator) standing where he ought not (the temple/holy place) claiming to be Christ (compare: 2 Thess 2:3-4).

13:15-16 we won’t need anything, for the end is near. House top: we are to be watchmen.

13:17 (compare: 2 Cor 11:2). This is speaking of the virgin bride of Christ. This is speaking spiritually. Christ comes for a virgin bride, and if you are helping Satan then you are no longer a virgin but with child (impregnated with his lies/deception) nursing along his agenda. God breaks it down for all to understand; if your husband was gone for 2,000 years and comes back to find you suckling a child, what does it mean? It means you have been unfaithful!

13:18 harvest time is not winter, don’t be taken out of season!

13:19 Satan will be here claiming to be the true Christ. Many will be deceived and led astray after the false one. They will be furthering his will and work.

13:20 elect: those who stood with God during the first earth age against the rebellion of Satan. The time was shortened from 7 years to 5 months (compare: Rev 9:5).

13:21-22 don’t follow because this is the antichrist. Many will be shouting it loud and proud claiming Christ has returned but it is the fake. Remember in the first seal Satan comes in on a white horse with a crown, don’t be fooled! They shall come, and bring supernatural powers with them.

13:23 He has told us, are you listening?

6^th seal

6:12 remember the first seal; Satan comes in on a white horse. This is his appearing/signs in heaven.

6:13 (compare: Rev 9:1, Dan 8:10). The mighty wind: this is speaking of God.

Mark 13:24-31

13:24-25 (compare: Isa 13:10).  Satan will be cast out (kicked out by Michael) to deceive all whom will believe. Know the word of God and stay a virgin bride for Christ.

13:26 this is the 7^th seal, when Christ comes to reign.

13:27 we will get to the 4 winds later in Revelation (the 4 winds are always a destructive force to the enemy, from nature). This is the true Christ coming, wait for Him.

13:28 summer: this is harvest time. Remember not to be harvested out of season (untimely/winter).

13:29 He will be here, be ready. The parable of the fig tree is something all should learn and understand. Christ said learn it!

13:30 the generation of the fig tree shall not pass away till all these things happen.

13:31 the fig shoot was set forth in 1948 when Israel became a nation again. From 1948 till the Lord returns, all these things will come to fruition.

6:14 a great shaking is happening. There is one Rock that cannot be shaken if you are standing on it, and that Rock is Jesus Christ (compare: Matt 7:24-25).

6:15-17 these will be ashamed and wish to die because when they see the true Christ come they will know they worshipped the false one. Many will have been in church they’re whole life.   The ones who do not bow to Satan will be able to stand. Remember Mark 13:6!

Revelation ch 6:1-8

We are now going to be looking into the seven seals. The seven seals are not in chronological order but placed by importance to us (what we should know, teaching order). It is very important to note this fact so we can better understand what our Father is telling us and trying to teach us.

Ch. 6

First Seal

6:1 it doesn’t say they are hidden or secret but rather to come and see. The Lamb of God has opened the seal so we can see it.

6:2 (compare: Matt 24:4-5, Mark 13:5-6, Luke 21:8). Bow G 5115; fabrication, a bow (as the simplest of fabrics). This is the antichrist (not to be confused with the true Christ who rides upon His white Horse in Revelation 19:11). This is why many will be deceived, because they will think he (antichrist) is Jesus. The bow antichrist has is a knock off compared to the bow (Shekinah Glory) that God has in Revelation 4:3. (Compare Revelation 13 for more details to antichrist coming and making war (conquering) with the people of God). Don’t be fooled by the fake to come, for he comes claiming to be Jesus Christ!

Mark 13:5-6 (What is being taught in Revelation is also the same thing mentioned in Mark).

13:5-6 Many will be deceived because they will be looking for the first person to ride in on a white horse to worship them. Unfortunately its antichrist and not the True Christ who comes first to deceive! Many know not the difference and will fall into the trap.

Second Seal

6:3 it is not hidden, all need to see so they are not deceived.

6:4 this is symbolic of war; it is a war horse. Remember anything God does or has Satan will mimic it and make it his own. God has a bow, so Satan has a bow (a fake or knock off), God has a sword (the word), so Satan has one as well (his word brings deception, lies, death, and many other bad things).

Mark 13:7

13:7 it will not be the end yet, we are to be watchmen and on guard against the deception and tricks of Satan. Remember we read in Dan 8 that Satan comes in with peace and prosperity. Be prepared!

Revelation Ch. 6 continued

Third Seal

6:5 black: this is symbolic of famine (compare: Lam 4:4-8).

6:6 oil and wine: this is symbolic of Gods elect. The oil is the anointing oil of Gods people, and the wine is the blood of Christ shed on the cross (compare: Rev 12:14, Zech 13:8). Penny G 1220; denarius. Bread by weight signifies scarcity (compare: Ezekiel 4:10/16-17). We see now inflation and prices shooting out of control.

Fourth Seal

6:7 come and see with understanding.

6:8 beasts G 2342; wild (venomous) beast, a dangerous animal. Hell and death are tied together here and are a representation of Satan (compare: Rev 9:11). The beasts could be representations of the nations to come that will help antichrist do his work (compare: Dan 7). Satan’s sword is his weapon of lies and deception (brings death spiritually on people).

Mark 13:8

13:8 famine: compare: Amos 8:11. Sorrows G 5604; labor pains. These are the beginnings of pains that will grow closer and closer until the Lord comes back and birth is given to the new age (third). The sword Satan uses brings this famine; you see it today. People are not being fed the word of God; people are hungry and hurting but are given nothing that can help them because the word is not being taught.
