Sharing

We are the many membered body of Christ. As this body we share many things together. The head of the body is God and He shares with us as well. It is vital to listen and follow what He is sharing with us because it is for our edification.

Isaiah 44:8-26

44:8 God H 6697; Rock, Refuge, Strength (compare: Deut 32:4, Isa 26:4). There is no other way to salvation, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!

44:9 those graven images whom man has made amount to nothing and bring shame on those that worship them.

44:10-11 this is a group you want to avoid. This group of people is setting themselves up to be deceived. They are sharing the wrong things with each other; in verse 8 God was sharing truth that they did not listen to.

44:12 the smith was used to make the graven images for the temples (it was a sort of sacred position). God is sharing more with you, we should listen. God created the whole universe and fainted not; so why would someone want to listen to a man who tries to create a whole religion and form of salvation?

44:13 idol worshippers fight very hard to dress up their beliefs to make it look good and religious. Unfortunately it isn’t very biblical and doesn’t fit with what God teaches us.

44:14 man thinks they control so much, but without God the very things they make idols out of would not exist. If you become uprooted from God and His word then you are in for a lot of deception.

44:15 the very same wood used to warm himself and bake on he uses as a symbol to worship. Does this happen today? People take wood and build churches but never get around to teaching the word of God! They then say you have to attend church to be saved or you’re going to hell. God saves; churches don’t! There is nothing wrong with churches, just the traditions of men that do away with truth!

44:16-17 this person thinks they are doing so well but they have left one important part out….God! Share the truth of God’s word with others, not the traditions of men that make God’s word void and empty.

44:18 the spirit of slumber is placed on some of the people for their own protection. This is done so they cannot commit the unforgiveable sin. (Compare: Rom 11:8).

44:19 considereth H 7725; reflect, bring back to his heart. Understanding H 8394; intelligence, discernment. Only a fool would attempt to make god out of the same wood used to cook with or builds a church with and believe it could offer salvation. God is the only place to find salvation!

44:20 these people never ask “does this make sense?” Many churches teach things that make no sense; we must listen to what God would share with us.

44:21 God will not forget those that are founded on Jesus Christ. Christ is the means to salvation, not a piece of wood or antichrist coming back acting s Christ.

44:22 God is sharing more valuable information! Only God can forgive sins upon repentance; not a piece of wood.

44:23 from this verse to verse 28 God promises to restore and rebuild Israel. Some of the wooden churches promise that a rapture is part of that restoration, let’s see what God says.

44:24 why would anyone trust their salvation to an inanimate object like a piece of wood or church building? God is the way and only way.

44:25 token H 226; signs, evidence, omen. Liars H 907/908; the false prophets. There are many good pastors and many bad ones. Make sure you are not following the bad.

44:26 did we read about flying away? Of course not because it’s not in here! God’s Kingdom will be established on earth as He promised. Be careful who we are sharing with.

Hebrews 2:9-15

2:9 God shared His only begotten Son so we can have salvation.

2:10 perfect G 5048; complete. If you want salvation it is found through the Captain of our salvation which is Jesus Christ. Don’t trust in a building of wood or any other symbol.

2:11 Jesus thinks of us as family, and sacrificed Himself for us.

2:12-13 (compare: Psalm 22:22, Isa 8:18). If Christ is in us then we share with that many membered body of Christ the truths that will make us overcomers and victorious.

2:14 God would never ask us to do something He wasn’t willing to do Himself. He actually showed us how to deal with this world and its wickedness. In showing that example to us He destroyed the power of Satan.

2:15 Jesus freed us! Repent and be free, sharing the truth with others of how you were set free.

1 John 1:1-3

1:1 the bible is the Word of Eternal Life!

1:2-3 this is what sharing is all about. When truth is shown to us, we share it with others.

A Peculiar People

God has a group of people that are special to Him and they are known as “peculiar”. In the Hebrew the word means to shut up in the sense of being very precious and special. In the Greek the word means beyond usual and special (one’s own). This is another example of how God watches over His own. We are going to start out in Titus learning about things we should acquire.

Titus 2:8-15

2:8 sound G 5199; healthy and true (doctrine). If you stick to doing what is right and the word of God, there can be no bad thing said of you without it being a lie.

2:9 this hits on people who speak ill will against their boss at the workplace; causing problems.

2:10 purloining G 3557; embezzle, keep back or steal. As Christians we are not supposed to partake in this type of behavior.  Put on the word of God and wear it with confidence; showing what is right and wrong.

2:11-12 God rewards those that do things His way. We can receive those rewards even now in this present world. When we do things as He instructs us, we become peculiar to God and He keeps us as a treasure for Himself!

2:13-14 He wants those special people to be zealous to do His will. Do we fit this mold? Can God call us peculiar?

2:15 Hang on to what is right. Don’t let others lead you off of the right path that leads to God.

Exodus 19:3-6

19:3-4 God took them under His wing of protection as a mother eagle would defend its babies. They made it out of Egypt safe and witnessed many mighty miracles!

19:5 there are things God wants from us in order to be peculiar. They are very easy things to keep: obey His voice and keep His covenants. He owns everything and wants to share it with you.

19:6 we are a nation under God no matter how many people disagree! We have a responsibility to carry that great tradition on for the sake of others.

Deuteronomy 26:15-19

26:15 you could say that we live in a land of milk and honey. Those nations with God will prosper.

26:16 pleasing our Father should be our top priority. He is the source of all good things.

26:17 avouched H 559; vowed. This is how we please God; being a doer of the word.

26:18 we are special to God because we want to do His will. There is a condition here; we must keep His commands! We all fall short, and when that happens repent and move on.

26:19 it is a good thing (and a pleasure) to be on the side of the one who created all!

Ezekiel 37:14-22 (this begins with the dry bones. This was the whole house of Israel spiritually dead)

37:14 His peculiar people have a job in bringing those dead bones back to life. We are to speak the word and watch as life enters in.

37:15-16 as it stands now the house of Judah and the house of Joseph (10 tribes) are split. They will soon be joined together as one peculiar people.

37:17-18 this is a future event.

37:19-20 this is talking about the joining back together of the tribes of Israel into one kingdom. The sticks will be joined when Christ returns because a kingdom will need a King to rule it.

37:21-22 the tribes are divided now but soon will be brought back together as one peculiar people.

1 Peter 2:1-9

2:1 these are the things that God’s peculiar people work to succeed at.

2:2 sincere G 97; undeceitful, unadulterated, sincere. Seek after the true word of God and don’t get sidetracked by fakes.

2:3 how could you ever want anything else once you have experienced the fullness of God.

2:4 they rejected and crucified Jesus. We should strive to be chosen of God and not men as well.

2:5 this is the second time that peculiar people is connected with the priesthood. You may not see yourself as a priest but your ministry could be as simple as bringing joy and blessings to others.

2:6 Christ is the chief cornerstone and the Living word. Those that learn the word will never be found confused.

2:7-8 Christ will be a stone of stumbling to those that don’t really know the word. They will fall short and not stick to the correct path that God has set for each of His children because they don’t know the way.

2:9 God treasures each and every one of you. We must show forth the mighty things God is doing in our lives, so other can see and glorify Him in heaven.
